CALEDONIAN SPRING wins the two year old mile Listed race at Haydock on 3rd to make amends for his unlucky run in the Acomb at York in fourth. He got a good ride at Haydock from Eddie Ahern who rode him with great confidence and he strode away to win comfortably by three lengths. He was the highest rated horse in the race, with the best form, but did not go off favourite. Must be a case of not being trained by a famous enough trainer! Nice price for our followers.

DARNATHEAN won well at Kempton the previous evening in the nursery. We decided to drop him back in trip and let him stride on and it seemed to suit him well. Luke Morris, a cracking young jockey, rides this horse well. DARNATHEAN always wears blinkers, not because he is not genuine, but because they stop him spooking at everything around him. He is ridden out in them everyday. When his lad removed them going down into the winner's enclosure, he went to bolt! He is the second winner to be bred by owners Ken and Debbie Snell from a mare they raced themselves, the first one being his half-sister dual winner LITTLE JAZZ.
