CALEDONIAN SPRING wins a hotly-contested maiden at Ascot on 22nd under a confident Kieren Fallon ride and earn his owner the 10,000 Racing Post Yearling Bonus.

CALEDONIAN SPRING is owned by Canadian Jim Kinnear, who unfortunately was not in the country to see his horse win. He was bought at the Kempton Breeze Up Sales by Ross Doyle and Paul, as a likely Royal Ascot horse and indeed did run at Royal Ascot in the Windsor Castle. The 7 furlongs of Friday's race suited him much better and Kieren's high opinion of the horse was vindicated. We have always thought a lot of this horse and will now up him in grade.
